I went to a thing online that told me to open my ps2 and do all this stuff and do this and do that if you were having disc reading errors, and I did and everything is fine and it went well and I didn't mess up er anything like that. So I plugged in the ps2 and put in the disc and put the disc holder back on top the thing like the fixing disc walkthrough said to online and I noticed as it tried to spin the disc (like if you've ever seen inside the ps2 the thing that pops up and takes a hold of the disc) instead of starting to spin constantly at a normal pace it would speed up~and then slow down~speed up and then slow down!!! So the reason my ps2 got a broken in the first place is b/c my friend was playing guilty gearX2 and she accidentally pulled the controler cord too hard and then the ps2 fell and broke* more like it works accept it wont play movies or games but it will play MUSIC!* AHHHHHHHH! So i have no idea what's happening. I geuss I"ll just send it in if no one can help me on this problem and I can fix it for cheap******* or even beter like~$Free$.

and look at the bottom picture you'll see a plastic circular disc at the back in the ps2. Well mine didn't have that and its the older model with 8 thing boxes you have to remove from the bottom of the ps2 to open it up. But as I glanced in at mine I saw where that white circular disc is in the picture that there is a little black short stick thing sticking up where that white circular disc was and I was thinking maybe the white circular disc broke off when my ps2 fell and so that's why i don't have one. But I don't know so please someone help me stop being confused. Since I know now that if the games and movies down't work on my ps2 that the music must be on some different mechanics on my ps2 or something like that** HELP!!!!!!!!! thank you**

You will need to recalibrate your laser, it has probably gone weak over time, there are 2 pots under the laser, you have to rotate these to increase the voltage going to the laser, and you should should be able to get it to read dvd disks again. If you want a repait guide telling you how to do this then PM me your email address.
