Ok, I just thought id warn everyone of the Dangers, Yes dangers of ebuyer.
I bought recently a creative audigy card. I installed it it worked ok. Because of my quite soft speakers i turned the sound up full. So there i was just booting up linux when:
Pure white noise came out of my speakers. In a state i ran outside my house and literally scared to go inside. Grabbed my dog and waited for around a minute or so. I thenplucked up the courage to turn it off. The sheer blast of noise scared me so much. It simply got me into a state. As i type this im shivering. Drinking alchol to sooth my nerves. Put it this way im damn lucky not to have had this happened when im sleeping. Can you imagine being woken up.
Man i just had to let that out. Im warnong everyone dont go to ebuyer. Unleess you wanna be scared s***less. Seriously it takes a lot to scare me but that just pushed the boat.
Also i recently ordered a hardrive from them. A few days ago. It came and of course the price was cheap. I installed it and the computer wouldnt even turn on. Took it out and the computer would turn on! So obviously the harddrive is the problem!
But then i thought mayeb its the power connecter??
SO i got a new hardrive with A NEW power connecter and plugged up the old one. The hardrive spinned. It smoked and gassed out my room for over an hour. Another quality product by our friends ebuyer!!!
Again a few months ago i bought some ram . Needless to say it didnt work. Although it did leave me with the present of burning out a ram dimm socket!
Out of the few items i have purchased from ebuyer i ahve had all theese problems?!?!
Am i just unclucky?? I think not i know plenty of people that have had problems with them.
Of to:
Www.scan.co.uk i think for me!
So basically this thread is adressed to people that have had problems with ebuyer!
Also if anyone wants to contribute to the angry letter im planning to write to them just post here!
Lecsiy!

linux is a tad different when it comes to volume, always turn the volume right down when configuring sound cards/devices in linux :)

I know it's taboo to criticize a site sponsor, but stay away from Newegg too. They do have a top-notch customer service department and good prices, but there's a reason why: You WILL be doing lots of returns.
Tigerdirect.com, fry's, mwave (not my favorite, but ok), even zipzoomfly. Chiefvalue is okay, except that it's owned by the same company as Newegg.
I know Newegg has a lot of loyal fans. Maybe all the trouble I've had was just chance. But paying sales tax or dealing with returns eliminates any savings, so cheaper isn't always better.
-Do you believe you own your computer and shouldn't be told what you can run and do? Then say *NO* to Microsoft Vista!
-Since half the questions here involve media problems, here ya go: Only use Verbatim or Taiyo-Yuden discs (get your TYs from Rima.com, not Supermediastore or meritline). Forget the rest, no matter what "brand" they sell under. Always burn at 4x speed regardless of the speed rating of this discs or your drive. If you have burn problems with these then you have to update your drive's firmware. For double-layer discs, only use Verbatim DVD+R DL and burn them at 2.4x speed.

I personaly have never had a problem with E-buyer, besides the usual missed delivery date. Had a Lite-on dvd drive go bad on me, returned for a credit and bought a replacement. Just invested in a video camera mv850i from them last week, cheapest place I could find it along with a firewire card and bluetooth dongle and they turned up early and work perfectly. I think Ebuyer are victims of their own success.
@ Lecsiy, It's a shame about the faulties you had and your deafening experience, but they are manufacturing problems. Ebuyer are just the middleman. As long as you get satifactory aftercare they are doing their job. Good luck with your returns and I hope they come through for you.
If at first you don't succeed....give up and go to the pub!

none of them worked right and it screwed up your ram slot? make sure you get a refund for everything as well as a compensation for the motherboard. They have to give it to you if they sold you a product that damaged it.
X2 3800, A8n deluxe motherboard, 7800GT, Xion 2 case
2GB Patriot DDR 400, Audigy 2 ZS gamer, 400GB SATA RAID 0
