I've searched all over the internet for a solution to this problem but I can't find anything that works.

I'm using a FlyVideo 3000 capture card and trying to capture VHS to avi/mpeg. No matter what software I try to use I get a "Video device already in use" error pop up...

"You cannot use this device when another video application, such as DVD, video conferencing, video editing, TV viewers or a WebTV for windows is already using it." etc.

This happens if I try to use one piece of software (eg. AVI_IO) and the switch to another (eg. VirtualDub) or if I use a piece of software once, exit it, and then start it up again.

I've got the latest drivers for my capture card. I've tried using generic drivers for my video card as well as the most up-to-date ones with none of it making a difference.

This is really starting to become irritating. If anyone can help me solve this problem I would be most grateful.

BTW, I am using Windows ME (but had the same problems with 2000 and XP).
