When you say cheap, I hope you mean discounted, not cheap and nasty.

I only use Verbatim +R DL disks as I always get a good burn, there are too many complaints about cheaper media, so they don't make good value if you end up binning most of them.

P.S. I only use DL disks for larger game backups, as I use DVD Rebuilder pro with Canopus Procoder 2 for backing up films.
Even with extras and menus, the quality of the backups is amazing, maybe you could try it before spending a fortune on DL disks.

I also use DVDRebuilder with CCE/Procoder2 for best results and burn on Taiyo Yuden disks! the best! I don't use DLs. I like movie only as I get right down to the fat part of the DVD!

@BigDK....... I don't mean to bring you down..... but your sig is too many lines and against forum rules. Personally I don't care! but a mod might mention to you the rules (3 lines only).... good luck.

Stick with +R DL if you are going the DL route; -R DL is hard to find, usually made by second-rate manufacturers (though Taiyo-Yuden announced a few months ago they will make a -R DL, but I've yet to see it), and software support is iffy at best. But if you are going with Double Layer, stick with Verbatim. Funny thing is, lately, it's been cheaper or nearly so than other competing brands anyway.

Best Buy has 20 packs for $35.

-Do you believe you own your computer and shouldn't be told what you can run and do? Then say *NO* to Microsoft Vista!
-Since half the questions here involve media problems, here ya go: Only use Verbatim or Taiyo-Yuden discs (get your TYs from Rima.com, not Supermediastore or meritline). Forget the rest, no matter what "brand" they sell under. Always burn at 4x speed regardless of the speed rating of this discs or your drive. If you have burn problems with these then you have to update your drive's firmware. For double-layer discs, only use Verbatim DVD+R DL and burn them at 2.4x speed.

CloneDVD2 has an option for dl disks so you can use them with that software no problem.
