Well why do they care right? The more people want it the more they will wait. People want the system so they are going to wait. They may be mad about it (the people waiting for the playstation 3) but there going to buy it any ways.

ya i am still getting one and there will be ways around this. gamers WONT stand around and let this happen. just wait few months after ps3 is released, im sure there will be something to stop it.

alafossb thats a really old rumor i think there were already a few threads about this and if they had done that ppl would just be pushed even more into making copies of games

in all fairness to alafossb, the article is somewhat recent and to some who may not have known quite the shock. considering the author failed to mention the press release which was back in November, he still went on to say how it would effect blockbuster and their industry, yet there hasnt been any real outcry from retailers with no explanation....just shows me, he(author) doesnt know his head from his ass.
on the flip side alafossb within a few mins of seeing the thread and Cobb's call to arms j/k, i managed to come across several sites debunking the OLD rumor. i also knew this, but still i think you could have googled "ps3 plays used games" or something

Yeah you have lot's of folks that will do anything to make ps3 a failure.This author is garbage plain and simple for trying to decieve people with no real facts to back his claim up.

probably could have been good at the time, but i thought about making a thread about all the debunked rumors that have surfaced about the ps3. only problem is im sure there would be some who would still get confused or even skip over the thread entirely.

well i just meant its not a matter of complaining or not complaining. people want their moneys worth and when spending $599, i for one am going to be a bit picky on what i am and am not getting so i don't want it to be "oh just accept it what it is buy it if you want don't if you want". im not going for any hit or miss, but alas i guess this thread is dead now.

First off everyone got to use better judgement on this if Sony does this they will hurt themselfs in a very big way.Why? Because rental chains like Blockbuster will stop doing biz with them and they would lose a lot of money on that side.

The good out of this for Blockbuster will be since the system is so expensive to buy, they will have many ppl renting a PS3. Of course they may require a bigger deposit. someone like myself might get some bright ideas & decide not to return it :O
DamonDash brings up an important point. Revenue from $ony comes from many sources. We might not understand until now, but $ony does know the rental market is important to a potential sale. If they put Blockbuster in a bad position, it will hurt them in the long run. System costs are so high for consumers, i wonder how it will be for rental companies? They have overhead costs we don't like store, taxes, insurance, etc.

I worked @ BlockBuster parttime for 5 year and store like BB are smart now they will not let you rent a console unless you have a creditcard.The Ps2 charge on your cardcard was like 200 bucks.But to be honest with you i look for BB to get out of renting consoles because it cost to much to rent them and they just sit there.This is how i got my brother a PS2.PS2 came out in Nov that year but by March of the next year BB sold them and i got my hands on one & they even let me use my 15% discount.
