I tryed today to do a full backup of my DVD+RW Sony 1.4GB disks.
But it wasn't possible. I received the error message:
DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.
Failed to read file "D:/"
The parameter is incorrect

After that I tryed with another disk, a commercial show, and no error was found.

What should I do to be able to back up DVD+RW 1.4GB Sony DVDs?

This seems to be a weird one because the disc shouldn't be encrypted ( since it's a non-copyprotected DVD+RW). My only suggestions would be to clean the disc, try Nero, try RipIt4Me (the link is in my sig), and/or try directly copying it (with Nero or Roxio). Check to see whether or not the disc is scratched because nothing can read a scratched disc. Other than those suggestions, I'm stumped. Sorry if this doesn't help. Best of luck.

i had the same error, but i ran the video ts file throgh vobblanker, and now shrink takes it with no problems after that! the movie was ultraviolet extended ws version. i used decrypter the first time, then shrink. i tried to open the file and i got that same error. vobblanker fixed it up so shrink can now accept it! try the blanker, it works!!
