Ok i did i did a site search but nothing really helpful came up. Could someone please help or point me towards help? I will list in order the steps that i did.

Steps 1 downloaded file off internet
2 burnt useing the basic mydvd program that came on my comp
3 played in computer abd it worked just fine.
4 tried to play in tv dvd play and got a no play back warning.

My tv dvd player/recorder is a -r model and my comp works with both - and +r. I know the kinda disk i used to burn the movie works in my tv player as i use them all the time to back up vhs tapes. The file i downloaded is .avi and i believe it was encoded with DivX as a DivX symbol apears on screen when the movie first starts playing on my comp. Could someone teach me how to make the dvd playable in my set top box?

unless your stand alone dvd player playes dvix it should play the disk, so what you havee to do is use a program like vso convertxtodvd, this program will convert the AVI file to dvd complyment so it can play in your dvd player, there is a trial version of the program and it will convert your file but it will leave a watermark on the disk untill you buy the program , verry good program worth the money good luck happy burning have a nice day. no verry easy to use. now just open your burning program and find where you put your converted files and burn to dvd, nice and easy

Ok i converted a .avi movie file but decided i did not want to burn it right then as i had something else to do so i stoped the program. Now when i look up old projects i see that it has seperated the audio and video into 2 distinct folders. What do i do now? Or would it be easier to convert the original file again and just burn the dvd when it prompts me to do so?
