Hi,

I haveswap magic 3.6 and a slimline ps2 but my lovely kids have scratched my swap magic dvd disc! I've read on here a method for using the cd swap magic disc to load dvd backups, but can't get it to work. Has anyone had the same problem and managed to load games? Can someone provide a simple step-by-step guide as to how to do it?

Many thanks,
Steve

Don't know if it'll work but I have read on ps2 backup forum, that you load the cd swapmagic and then the dvd cd then the game. Don't know if that's right but go the ps2backup forum some could have the right and detailed answer.

No that's not right. You need to use CDLoader's DVD booting method.

Swap Magic CD > CDLoader > Press eject on ps2 > put in high TOC original DVD game > press X > backup

Always 1st with 100% working PS2 Online Game DNA$ IDs!!

actually ace1uk, that version of swap magic has a cd loader feature built in. So, the steps would be Swap Magic CD > Press eject on ps2 > put in high TOC original DVD game > press X (maybe not needed) > backup. BUT since you have a slimline, i don't know if you can to a TOC refresh.

what you need is cogswap

what you can do is get a usb key, format it to FAT system and then rename cogswap.elf to SMBOOT2.elf

place that into the usb key under the folder
SWAPMAGIC

then when it is at "LOAD PROGRAM"

push UP + R1 then cogswap will load, use cogswap and a high TOC PS2 game t run ur game ^^ (I am doing that myself as I lended my DVD swap magic out )

If you still have the disc, Get some car wax and spread it on the disc a big glob. Use a old towel or something and keep rubbing it in until it seems like there isnt anymore of the wax on it. Then see if it works, Worked for me.
