ok i have a cuple of video files i want to get to dvd
they say
windows movie (plays in DivX player)
or
movie clip (plays in wmp)

what is a free software
that will convert each type to dvd fast?

ConvertXToDvd is the perfect program to use to convert those files to DVD. You can d/l it from here ---> http://www.filepedia.com/video_software/video_encoders/vso_divxto...

If it is saying "page not found" then that is something with your browser. I just tried again to access the site myself by clicking on that same link and it worked fine. I would either give it another try or use the link that smacyo137 provided. Hopefully one of those will get you what you need.
