ok i used DVDDecrypter to copy the vob files to my hardrive, i then watched a few mins of each one to see if they where ok NOTE: the language was english, so then i started to convert them using TMPGEnc, after they had converted i found that the language had changed to sum other language like german/japan... so now i cant understand whats going on in the film, help me so its play in the english language.

Let me get this, after DVD Decrypter you used TMPGEnc ? as in you opened the VOB file directly in it ? :-/

Why didn't you use DVD2AVI to create a D2V/WAV files instead ?

i don't know what happened but i have had much success using this method
1)smartripper or dvd decrypter
2) dvd2one if movie is a dvd-9
3) finally your favorite burning program i use nero..
if you do a searchmessages for dvd ripping guides; you should find what you are looking for.. i have not personally backed up that movie but i intend too...
