i bought the flip-top and when i load the disc it will spin but if i close it there is a grinding sound and it will stop loading. If i leave it open everything works fine. but i dont think i should leave it open to use it. Can someone give me some help on what i should do! Thanks

Did you switch the white spindle (don't know if that's the right name for it) form you oringinal ps2 top?

If you hear a grinding noise, it could be a few things. One possibility is that the silver power strip is hitting the disc while it's spinning. Another possibility is the laser may be hitting the disc while it's reading. Or if you have tape taping down the silver strip, that could be it.

how do i switch the white spindle piece? I think that is what it has to be, because it works fine while the top is up. But when the lid goes down it starts to grind. THanks

Take the white disc from the old drive cover and insert it into the centre section of the flip lid
