I tried decrypting Inside Man at least 10 times in the last 2 days...everytime, it stops at 1% (total) and it says "Pack header not found" like 50 times in the log.

I searched on google, got redirected here, and I saw that Lords of Dogtown was also doing this, so I downloaded AnyDVD hoping it would work..Well, it didn't

I read about the DVDFABDecrypter or whatever..will that do the trick..?

Someone please help me..I searched the forums for another thread like this, and I didn't find anything even related to my question. So any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
..nik

what software were you using that resulted in errors? what did you do with AnyDVD? rip to hard drive? run in background while using some other software like shrink? i had no problem doing the main movie with dvd fab decrypter -> VOB blanker -> shrink -> Nero. but i did have trouble with the "extras", and haven't had time yet to go back and start over trying to burn the full dvd. some people have also used AnyDVD or ripit4me to successfully backup "inside man". give us more info, and i'm sure someone will have some helpful information.

OK, well the software I was using that resulted in errors was DVDDecrytper, and with AnyDVD I just ran it in the background, which is all i know how to do with it. What else can you do with it? So what do you suggest I do?

hello knickers,

try the combo said by surfgeo, as i made a full disk backup using that combo and it came out perfect.

1.DVDFab to rip to HDD
2.VobBlanker(Very important) to delete bad cells and fix
3.DVD Shrink to fit to SL disk
4.Burn with what u want to use

heres a guide for DVDFab & Vobblanker, just use shrink were recode is used

You have to set up DVD Decrypter a certain way to allow AnyDVD to do the ripping for you, they won't work together unless set up this way...

To rip to HDD with DVD Decrypter while AnyDVD strips the copy protection, set up DVD Decrypter as follows...Tools, Settings, I/O tab...tick Elby CDIO->Elaborate Bytes. In the general tab untick the option to check for structure protection. These settings will allow AnyDVD to strip the protection for DVD Decrypter.

You can also try the method given by 300bowler or Ripit4Me will do it also...

http://www.ripit4me.org

The guide: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/360110

The programs that you will need for Ripit4Me can be found in the GUI under software...you already have DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter, so you will need to get FixVTS.

Okay, so that method worked. The DVD successfully decrypted, and I have all the files.

Problem now, is that when I try to open them in DVD Shrink, it says they're invalid..so what do i have to do now?

Well, I read the guide about VobBlanker, but it said NOTHING about removing the files that are making it not open in DVD Shrink..so what am I supposed to do exactly..?

well just make an output folder for VobBlanker to create, and hit the process button, then run the folder created by VobBlanker thru shrink or recode and u will not get errors in shrink or recode

u can also use the VobBlanker part guide i my 1st post if the one u followed is too complicated.
edit
i read ur psot again and just do what the guide says, u dont have to remove(Blank) anything, as Vobblanker will do it automaticaly when u hit the process button.

I used DVDFab to rip to HDD and open the video_TS.ifo with vobblanker and I hit process, and waited for it to finish. I tried using DVDClone 2 to shrink and write the disc. It shirnks it fine (100%) but always fails to burn. Anyone have any advice to burn this disc? I'm guessing I'll have to use another app to burn.

Use DVD Shrink to create an ISO and burn with Imgburn.

You can also use DVD Decrypter successfully. To do this you have to use IFO mode and uncheck cell 2 in chapter 1. Then decrypt as normal and voila bad sector is removed :)
