Firstly, don't be using all caps, gets annoying :-)
It sounds that you have downloaded a codec that is corrupt in some way. Remove all video codecs and codec packs from you computer. Then download from http://www.divx.com/ the new DivX codec 5 and install. You should also donwload an Xvid codec from Kieopi.
Try your file again. If no success, try downloading the V Player, http://www.vidomi.com/ and install it. It will play all files associated with DivX or Xvid and if you have a problem, it will show on this.
Four CC code "0" is usually a fake file/bad header
if GSpot says you can play it ...you can...(meaning it shows a route the video will take)
But if you watch it '''it's a black screen and if you watch long enough you will see a few spots of white snow appear in a almost black screen (a little bit of white specks)
This is a probably a fake file
you probably got it from p2p... expect fakes and bad movies when you go that route
Maybe I over did it on the last thread, I found this nice little Player Called VLC that will allow you to watch or preview, DAT file from P2P. It also plays DVD,SVCD,VCD, MPEG and alot more. I have found it to be very useful. Thats just my opinion :) Thus saving you the time of making a mistake. I have used this player many times and have found it to be very helpful. Here is a link to the home page.

Try the a FourCC changer (i.e., http://www.inmatrix.com)? If you know the movie is real, why dont you just change the codec to what it should be? Go to http://www.fourcc.org/ for a list of FourCCs. Hope that helps...
