If anyone has the original 500A_10f.exe Firmware Upgrade I would appreciate it if you could E-mail me with the file as an attachment. I installed the 500A_20f.exe Upgrade and now have a problem. DVD-R's that I originally could write at 2X will now only write at 1X, real pain in the ...
and Sony Tech support won't respond to my E-mails. Please send to both my e-mail address so that I am sure to get the file.

Sony keeps all their firmware in the same place, you just have to know the name...

Try this link for 1.0G:

Let me know if it works, I've had coasters with CloneCD since my 2.0F update... I didn't know you could downgrade the firmware, but I'll try also.

I think you can downgrade your firmware to an older edition. Before youupgrade, you should check the statistics usually supplied with the firmware stating compatibilites and writing speeds.
