Hello! I've got PSTwo Slimline with Modchip. I made some backups from my games and they works fine but I would like to play them on my PSTwo with cheats from my Action Replay Max CD. But ARMAX CD says: "Action Replay Max cannot read this disc" I have tried to go to expert mode and select the cheats there, but when it says "Ensure your game disc is inserted" I've swaped my backup and nothing happened. I've tried with swap magic DVD but it says: "Invalid disc".
My backups are on DVD-Rs. Somebody help me please!
Which mod-chip do you have and which BIOS is it running? I have a DMS4 Lite SE with ToxicBIOS 1.4 and all my games work good with Action Replay MAX Evo.
* Full Autodetect and
NoSwap modchip with media Autodetect and intuitive PnP Technology.

protection routines.
* Absolutely new LPPT (Low Power Patching Technique) to save and
PROTECT PS2 motherboard.

consume too much power from your console, leaving saved power for
larger HDD and for more stable operation.
* Ground Bounce Free Technology.

I'm having similar trouble, I have a PAL PS2 version 3 with a DMS4 pro modchip. After I insert the A/R Max disc and set up the codes I want, I swap the disk over and press the X (OK) button and I get a black screen that just hangs there.
I mainly bought the A/R Max disc because it boasts "You can play most forms of popular video formats"
I have run the conversion program that comes on a seperate disk and converted the video files where necessary but I keep getting a message saying "No media files detected on pendrive". As you've probably guessed, I am using a flash drive to store my video files because it says you can do this and if I bring up the Max Memory option, it says I have a flash drive attached so I know the PS2 is reading it
Does having a modchip effect the Action Replay Max's abilities
Try dissabling the chip while trying to play movies from the pen drive, do this by holding in the "L1" button directly after you start your ps2. Why the games hang after the cheat I don't know why... they should work fine. Is it possible that your backup game is NTSC/J/C/U?
"Why the games hang after the cheat I don't know why... they should work fine. Is it possible that your backup game is NTSC/J/C/U?"
It does it on both originals and backups and both are PAL (Australian) format and for backups I use either TDK or SONY media. One thing I did notice, sometimes when it tries to load the disk with the cheats enabled, it will go to the red mist screen, I then open and close the drive (I don't press reset) and it will boot up OK with the cheats enabled.
Unfortunatly, more often than not, the game will hang.
i have similar problem none of my backups work with Action Replay Max i just thought they couldnt and lived with it, but my originals work fine. But after hearing people having backups working with it now im curious :-) PS2 slim here by the way as well.
At 3partsgin, i also brought mine for the Video playing feature before i had a modchip, which never worked for me no matter what i tryed, i think it was abit of a con only worked on some versions of the PS2 i reckon.
Cheers mate, I thought my mod chip may have been affecting the performance but if you were having trouble with A/R when you didn't have a chip installed, then I guess it rules that out.
