Hi. Have a DVP 642/17 and just upgraded to FW 1109. Device is about 2 years old. Note that the specs indicate that the player should read DVD +R DL disks (am using Verbatim and HP media). Nope. Neither with DVD-ROM or DVD +R DL booktypes. These disks work on everything else in he house - computers, DVD portables, and my lowly old Panasonic DVD Player from long ago. Is the failure to read (after inserting disk = "LOADING" - then TV screen goes to "DVD" - then the tray opens and the disk is ejected) just one of those "sorry charlie" compatibility issues, or is there a tweak? Thanks.
