First, i have a Sony DVD player that supports VCD format. Now, does it matter if i burn a VCD with a CD-R or CD-RW? I read somewhere that Sony DVD players worked only with CD-RWs.

it all depends on which sony you have , cd-rw might be your best bet though......i have found that older sonys like two or three years old that claim to play vcd will play them but won't play cd-r's and most of the time wont play cd-rw's either.
