Hi- does anyone know how i can test the usb ports in my fat ps2? i got USB extreme and cant get it to recognize anything.

is this likely compatibility, or a PS2 hardware issue?

Ok if you have Action replay max or can borrow it there might be a way.

Get a usb pen drive and plug it in to the top port
Boot AR max and go to the max memory app.
If it detects the drive then you ps2s usb is A ok and you have another prob.
Try it i see nio one else has come up with ne thing else yet

Thanks for your help- I found an old pen drive of mine and plugged it in with the HD Extreme disk? the drive lit up and the PS2 went to the USB menu! So the port worked.

Next I borrowed a friends Ultra HD Case? that worked too. I swapped the HD out between the two casings and am in business. I shoulda tried all this first, i just couldnt get a diff pen drive or the original HD case to do anything.

Looks like the Rosewill HD USB Case wont work with the my PS2/usb extreme.

Your case might work, just make sure it is formatted and able to be recognized on your computer.
