Ok guys I need help. My 250GB HD was acting a lil buggy today so I decided time for a new format and wipe of the HD. So I connected to my pc and wiped it clean. Then I took my stock xbox HD and cloned it to the 250GB HD. Everything was fine when locking up the Stock HD because c'mon thats more important. Now when I tried to lock the 250 it didnt quite lock just right so I popped it in my box and BAM 06 error code. So maybe I need to unlock it........cant unlock and cant lock so its stuck just Locked up and I cant unlock it.....I saw an HD unlocking program floating around that utilizes the internet to help unlock it with out the eeprom........anyone with some solutions?

did you try and lock it without the eeprom in the first place???what program did you use to copy the Stock HD to the Large one?

ok nevermind I got it but I'm going to post the process to help one anyone in the future. Ok if it gives you an error code 06 that means the hdd is locked but wont unlock upon boot up on the xbox. u need to unlock it either with the eeprom or this neat program i found on http://www.hddunlock.com they have a program to unlock the hd you have to pay for it now but hey 20 bucks is better than buying a whole new hd. So yea run it with that program to unlock now if you try to throw it back in your xbox it may give you the error code 16 if it does that means its unlocked. now u can reformat the drive and use it again. long wait time on this procedure

or you could have just used Xboxhdm and rebuilt the Drive and locked/unlocked it without a problem...
