Burning an MPEG file onto a Sony DWU10A

I am very new to DVD burning.
I have produced a holiday video and saved it as an MPEG file on my hard disk.
I am using Datawrite DVD-R disks and the latest version of NERO
My Sony DWU10A goes through the actions of burning but on playback the disk drive tells me that no disk is present and will not read anything - although you can see the witness of burning on the disk.
I have succeeded in producing a short video using a Datawrite DVD+R on the same setup.
Any help - however trivial - would be most welcome.

How did you burn a datawrite if the drive isnt reading discs? It must be reading them fine. Secondly, make sure that the video you saved is saved as Mpeg2 and not Mpeg as you stated. You may need to convert it. Nero isnt the best system for recording DVD's. Try Stomps Record Now Max 4.50

I have search Google for STOMPS RECORD etc....
but without any luck.
Is it a bought package or downloadable.
