I've made dvds from avi/mpg files before with VSO DivXtoDVD..

but that's with just having one or two files.

if I have about 5-6 or whatever different videos, I'd like to have a dvd menu so I can skip to one of them, instead of having to try and find it.

do you know an *easy* to use program to do this?

TMPGEnc dvd author is what I use. http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/download/tda20.html You can make custom menus with lots of options to change, But im not sure all the file types I know it does compliant mpeg2 videos and vobs or video_ts folders not sure about wmv though, but check it out if ya want...:)

most files I have are avi's.. and it doesn't work with avi's

I tried converting the avi's to mpeg1 and mpeg2 using WinAVI Video Converter.. and both didn't work, they didn't have the correct ratio size or whatever they were (320x240) .. I tried changing them it to one that was compatiable 344x240 or something like that.. and then it said it couldn't detect the bitrate.

do you know another program.. or one that will convert the files to a correct mpeg file?

you should be able to convert your avi's to compliant mpeg-2's with TMPGEnc encoder there might be a better program but its what I use. but your audio has to be like 48khz to be dvd compliant and make sure your aspect ratio is correct on your video. Now after you have your mpeg you should use TMPGEnc to demultiplex it to seperate files for video and audio. You should have an .mpg and .m1v files the .m1v file is the video select it as your source for dvd author then browse for the .mpg file that is the audio and it will create your dvd from those.
