I was in K-mart yesterday and, as always, I checked if there was media sales. When I took a look at the Sonys I discovered few of them were MIJ 1X-8X and had an octagonal white spacer. Funny thing is the YudenT02 I used to buy had the same disctinctive features except for the spacer. It was white and round. I'm just trying to get my facts straight. Are the ones I saw TY T02 or T03?
if the Sonys u were looking at were rated 1-8x speed, made in japan, and of the DVD+R format, they are YUDEN000T02; i have about 3 packs of 50 count spindles left of the Sony MIJ 1x-8x rated DVD+R with the WHITE ROUND spacer that yield Taiyo Yudens with the YUDEN000T02 MID coding~ :)
despite all the "talk" about Sony and their 16x rated media, i have YET to see ANYONE confirm or report a YUDEN000T03 under the Sony brand (it would be 16x DVD+R MIJ with WHITE OCTAGONAL spacer for that to hold true), all of Sony's 16x DVD+R format rated media regardless of where they are made and regardless of what kind of spacer they have are all SONYD21 coded to the best of my knowledge, until i see PROOF otherwise, i will say Taiyo Yuden DOES NOT manufacture the 16x DVD+R discs for Sony. (even if u can find a MIJ spindle under the 16x DVD+R format, they are NOT TY made) :)

Yep, there are no 16x Sony +R TY disks. -Rs only. Of course, for those of us who have always preferred -R, this is poetic justice, because we were mostly shutout with 8x media. So now, it's reversed. :-D
So Sony's 1X-8X MIJ with white octagonal spacer are still TY. The octagonal thing kinda threw me off. I was expecting the old round one.
So far in Puerto Rico only Kmart has the TY made Sony's +R. Everywhere else the +R's are SONY coded. Also when it comes to -R's, only Walmart has the TYG03 Sony's. So locally my choices are Kmart for TY +R, Walmart for TY -R, and Office Max for Verbs (both formats). The problem is Kmart seldom puts the Sony's on sale, and they sell them at a higher price than Walmart. Everything else around here is crap. Maxells and Fujis are MIT and some even code CMC.
My staple's only has the gray/round spacer Sony +16x with the Sony D21 MID code.I am eagerly waiting for those sweet and juicy Sony Yuden000-T03s!!!!!
hermes: Grab up those Yuden000-T02. They've been extinct in my realm for 3 months. Those sweet Hitachi Maxell-002-00 are also extinct. No more awesome +8x speed media around my way,bummer!

Me too, at circuit city they like never clean shelves and i hid 5 +r MIJ Sony 8x %o packs untill they went on sale at Best Buy and then price matched circuitcity 110% so they were 12.50 a piece
I saw some MIJ 16x Sony DVD+R 25 pack with a white circular spacer and was curious and bought them and saw that they werent TYs cause no tg or gg or whatever the inner hub was supposed to be so i took em back. interesting though was the spacer was like thinner than paper no joke. maybe its like that on all 25 packs cause i always buy at least 50 packs.
