Got my used harman kardon TS-1 5.1 surround system yesterday and the sub is acting stange. When I plugged it in at first it would try to power on but I would hear a clicking noise and the green power light would blink. Took the fuse out and put it back in, fooled around with it for a min then I connected it back up and it started working. Sounded great with a movie I had playing...Took the sub to my apartment today to hook up and it did the same thing, went to standby immediately then the same clicking and green light blinking...The sub is def. not blown because I had it powered up yesterday and working fine. Now all of a sudden its back to the drawing board...My H/K receiver only has 1 sub output and the sub itself has 2 inputs (red and white.) Should I buy a Y cable to split the lines to the 2 inputs on the sub? Would having only one connected cause my problem? If anyone could help me out id greatly appreciate it...

Having only 1 connected will not cause the problem. However, having 2 connected will double input voltage and therefore increase overall output.

If the amp keeps going into protect, there is something wrong with the woofer or settings. I am not familiar with the HK subs, so I'll ask... does it have a variable gain, input, or some kind of "volume" dial? If it does and you are cranking the knob, you could be overloading the amp. I suggest setting the amp to mid volume and playing with your LFE setting on the reciever to properly adjust sub output. A gain knob is not a safe way to adjust an amp.
