i got a hitachi drive i have read and read tutorials til my eyes bled i know the basic computer skills, never messed with a sata plug or anything, just let me get this straight you have to open your computer and find an entry that says sata? i have all the rest down i just dont understand everything that has to do with sata copatability and chipset and wat not. i have been trying to wait till xcecuter came out with their usb adaptor but thats taking too long please anyone bless me with your knowledge.. roonie101 you seem to know alot. thanx and good bye

If your computer is close to 2 years old or older it most likely doesn't have a SATA port on it and you'll have to buy a PCI SATA card. Here what SATA cable looks like. The port obviously would fit it. http://www.cs-electronics.com/images/img06302005/SATA%20Signal%20...

You don't know was PCI is? Not to sound harsh, but that's something you should probably know before trying this. This hack is a bit tricky even for the computer savy. It was for me. Anyway, PCI stands for Peripheral Component Interconnect. A motherboard will have PCI slots on in where you can plug in cards for pretty much anything, ie. Video Card, ethernet card, USB 2.0, SATA, etc. If your motherboard doesnt' have a SATA port you will need to connect one via PCI. So that's why I said you'll a PCI SATA card if you don't have a SATA port on your motherboard.
