I downloaded Halo 2 from torrent. It came in a fold w/ files named Halo 2.Part 1-30.rar (30 files). I also downloaded Qwix and i am trying to convert the file into a ISO. Then burn to DVD rom. Question is do i need to FTP in order to convert it? and burning it to a DVD rom and insterting it into my chiped xbox works perfectly right?

No you don't need to FTP it to your xbox, its actually simple just WinRAR the first rar file oo1 or whatever its called and you should get the full iso file, if its too big you might have to delete some files some that you won't use like credits, or your xboxlive file use and iso creation program that will extract the iso, but if it fit in to a DVD5 4.38gb then just burn the iso file.
