I've been tinkering with Firmware and write speeds and for some reason I end up with what I think to be conflicting results. I get better quality scores burning @ 12X than @ 8X, but that's not what puzzles me. Even though the quality score is higher @ 12X, the PIF total is way up when compared to 8X burning. In other words, @8X I get High PIE's and Low PIF's, but @12X I get about 25% less PIE's and 30-40% more PIF's. What's up with that?

Those 16x Verbatims were made for fast burning, I had similar results when I first got some 16x Verbs.

Yes I know. Everybody has told me so. What I don't understand is the PIE/PIF values. I'd expect BOTH values to be lower or higher depending on burn speed not alternated. So what's more important, PIE or PIF?
