I own a slimline v13 PSTwo. Since I'm kind of clumsy and my discs are very prone to scratching.

What I want to know is, currently, what is the best HDD (around 150-250 GB) to use with (if not included) a USB enclosure? Someone that is on the market now and isn't that expensive.

I've seen some good deals on tigerdirect.com, like this Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details....), but the problem is, as is with many recent hard drives, is that I cannot find out if the hard drive is compatible with USB Advance since the main compatibility lists on the net aren't that recent.

Oh, and getting a mod chip installed is out of the question, not only because I'm horrible at soldering, but also because it'd be too much of a hassle.

you should get hd combo for your ps2 so you can use an internal hdd, youre going to have to make an exploit, get swap magic, or buy a pressed copy of hd loader or hd advance to get your ps2 to boot games from the hdd.
Although usb advance might be less complicated only about 5.5% (got this info from: http://list.ps2hd.com/)of all ps2 games work with USB Advance.
If the reason that you want to boot ps2 games from the hdd really is because you are clumsy then just get swap magic and make backups of yourgames.
BTW: i couldnt find if that hdd will work with your ps2. i dont think that it will, but maybe someone smarter than me can anwser that question.

I guess I'll go with HD combo, and use it in conjunction with my Swap Magic v3.6.

Now the only problem is finding someone who'd install it for me around where I live.

Thank you Markman29
