Can a bad install hurt a modchip?

Hello everyone-

I recently attempted to install a brand new Matrix Infinity modchip into my old v4 PS2... and failed miserably. So I got a new cheap slimline 7500 series and took the modchip out of the old destroyed PS2. My question is this - can I send the new PS2 to modchipman along with the matrix to have it installed or could a bad install somehow hurt the mod chip itself? The chip itself is brand new except solder on the PCB and a glob of hot glue on the bottom... should be fine, right?

PS - does anyone know any other installers who are as good as modchipman but who might have faster turnaround? Or should I just go with them as they seem to be the best?

im not sure how the turnaround would be, but just as another option, www.teammodders.com can install it.

Yeh, it should be alright. but it the blob of glue is big, then you should try to file it down a bit. carefully. hey, how exacly did you fail? were you nevous and slipped, or did you not see the diagrams properly, or what?
