that disk shouldn't be a problem using either of the freeware methods:
1. dvdfabdecrypter -> vobblanker -> shrink, or
2. ripit4me
also the payware AnyDVD (free 21 day trial) will do the job.
what software are you using and what errors are you getting?

you will have to run Any DVD in back ground of Shrink...then in Shrink you will have to reauthor and Just select Title 1 under the Main Movie Header. The movie is to large even for shrink. So by doing this you will only have main Movie....to tile menu..it will start right up like an old VHS . Good luck! Lete us know how you do. Im doing this movie as we speak now. So far so good....

Even the previous versions of AnyDVD and Ripper/burner software of choice had no problems with this one.
Luck has nothing to do with this process. Good tools and good technique with no "cockpit errors" are what is required.

Its ok...just trying to keep this site / forum in good order. This is a very helpful site. Glad you are here along with everyone else to help out. But lets try and keep the negative thoughts to ourselves. But I have heard its not very good...then I also hear its good. Depends on what you like. Apprently you dont like that type of movie. Someone with background of history...may love it. Just another prime example of "Personal Preference"
Have a great day.!

you know what they say, "opinions are like *ssholes... everyone's got one".
do broccoli, turnips, tripe, escargot taste "good"? the "taste" is just molecules interacting (food and tongue), what you experience and interpret and judge and evaluate as your subjective experience, is just that, and nothing more, YOUR subjective judgment and evaluation. it is entirely valid for you to say "i don't like it". it is entirely specious and mistaken for you to say "it is bad". unfortunately, the fact that most people don't see the difference is a cause of much misunderstanding and consequent suffering in the world.
end of rant.
have fun burning everyone!
ps by the way, of the 15 professional film critic reviews listed on netflix, the average rating for this movie is 4 out of 5 stars, with a number of 5s and a couple of 2s. just their subjective evaluations.

sorry for the rant. it's one of my major pet peeves (pushed my button... and besides i DID enjoy the movie! ;-) ), and living in a world where most people aren't even aware of the distinction, much less verbalize and act in accord with that reality is extremely sad and frustrating for me.
if we start commenting on the "quality" of the content that everyone here is asking questions for help with backing up, it'll turn into a big mess.
i will now shut up.

hey kegnfool,
sorry. no longer have messenger. i'm all calmed down now... ready to hear the next person reveal what is "good" and what is "bad"... i have to admit that it bothers me when people make those judgments about anything at all (stupid/smart, beautiful/ugly, polite/rude, etc. etc. etc.), but it's when they get into the "we need to cut off your head if you don't hold the same beliefs we do" mode that i get really scared...
backing up dvds is so simple comparatively... what's the worst that can happen? a few coasters?

yeah, i know you weren't hassling me. you were the one who first commented on the problem with making judgments about movies in general and in particular on these forums where people are asking for help backing up, not asking whether someone else thinks they should bothering to back up a particular movie.
let me know if there is some way you can ask your question without it being a problem for other people... maybe in the safety valve forum?
