First let me start by saying how informative these forums have been to me in the past and thanks to all the posters that keep these boards moving. Second, I'm sure the answer I seek lies somewhere in this forum, but time is not a commodity I possess much of so I'd rather be gaming than hunting. I'm no stranger to this; I had an Xecuter2 in my old xbox and I keep a newshosting account paid up, but I'm having problems with a few isos I've dl'd for the 360. I have a Hitachi 57 with Commadore4eva's xtreme firmware v.3, and it plays disks I've gotten from a buddy no problem. We both have NEC DVD+R DL drives and use Verbatim exclusively. But, since I finally got around to grabbing my own isos I can't seem to burn anything but coasters (and at $1.25 a pop it's like flushing beer down the toilet). Since I'm new to burning 360 games I'm only dealing with pre-patched games, and using CloneCD to burn by loading the *.dvd file. The burn completes successfully, but the box says it's unreadable. I've checked DVDInfo Pro and it shows my drive capable of DVD+R DL and that my book type is DVD-ROM, and when I do a compare between the disk and the iso it's flawless so I'm assuming my burns are good. So, the question is; should I be looking for a new firmware, am I getting $hitty isos ( I look for poster flame before I dl just to save myself the bandwith), should I be patching my own ss,???. I'm about to burn some ping-pong after I apply the ss patch myself and see if that one plays, but at this point I'm at a loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Since the discs you got from your friend work, you could try copying one to make everything is good on your end burning. Pretty much every pre-patched game I downloaded has worked for me in a Hitachi or Samsung. I'd use GARYOPA 1.3 ir 2.1 7 in 1 firmware instead of Commadore4eva's xtreme firmware v.3.
