I've installed the Duox2 modchip in my xbox.
When I press the power button, the xbox starts with the blue Xbox logo and then still goes to the original microsoft dashboard.
Is this normal or what do I have to do to install an other dashboard?
Or did I do something wrong with the chip?
Please help..

This is normal. When you install a chip you never get a dashboard with it. You will need to flash the chip with a bios (if you havent allready) and install a dashboard.

But how do I flash the chip?

To install a dashboard I have a boot cd called "XBOX-BOARDS.DE Ultimate Boot CD V4.0"
It has dashboards en many other stuff.

Can I use this?

I have the bios file "512k.x2.5035.iso"
If I burn this with Nero on a cdr, my xbox doesnt recognise it.
But I saw somewhere that I have to use a dvd.. is that correct?
Can I use a DVD+R ?

CDr's dont generally work.

Your best bet is a brand name CD-RW or DVD+R.

There is a good chart of what drive will read what media here http://www.xbox-linux.org/wiki/Xbox_Linux_Boot_CD/DVD_Burning_HOWTO

You should have the files you need with the autoinstaller and the bios CD .iso.

I have a Philips VAD6011/21 so all kinds of dvd would work.
I tried it with an DVD+R and a DVD+RW, but they dont work.
The Xbox keeps going to the microsoft dashboard and keeps saying that the disc cannot be read..
In Nero I use the setting of "disc-at-once" and "finalize CD"
I'm really getting desperate here..:)

Just got the info!
---------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm sorry i assumed you bought the flashBios version of the chip.

With this chip the EJECT BUTTON loads the default (Microsoft) bios and the POWER BUTTON activates the chip.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Apparently that chip comes flashed with EvoX M8.

Do you see a new EvoX logo on the startup animation?

If you don't, turn off your xbox, flick the switch on the chip and turn on your xbox using the POWER BUTTON.

Then once you have got the evoX logo on screen your xbox will load your "XBOX-BOARDS.DE Ultimate Boot CD V4.0".

Once again i'm very sorry about my mistake. Could you forgive me? :(

What you need to do is go on xbins and dl a boot disk called Eurasia Flash disk, also find your preferred bios. burn eurasia to a cd-rw, open teh xbox drive, place the disk inside, then turn it off. Next I want you to take your Evox file and rename it to "bios" so the whole file is called "bios.bin" now take that file and grab any file whatsoever that is apporx. 100 mb large. This will be used as dummy data to make it easier for the xbox to read it. Burn theses two files as a data disk and hold on to it. Now turn on your xbox with the Eurasai disk already inside of it, when it boots follow the intructions, and dont worry about any error messages it gives you.
