i tried both and it said sim not restricted.
i put my cingular sim in and it will take the sim card, but wont get any reception. i have another cingular phone on hand and it works fine, with good reception. the 3390b doesnt have network or signal. but it's taking the sim card, it doesnt say sim error or something like that. help

What country are trying to use the 3390 in and where(country) did you buy the 3390b? What is the make and model number of your other mobile?

It is probably down to the frequency not matching.

I have a 3390b nokia fon and i got it from tmobile. when i went to the phils., i went to get it unlocked in smart telecom network, when i got back in USA, i couldnt use it anymore. it accepts the smart telecom sim card and also my cingular but there's no reception that shows. no network, nothing. no signal. i would like to use the phone again with my cingular sim card, usa. please help. thank u.

i want to use it with cingular sim card now. i live in NC,usa.
the other phone i have now that's working is s.ericsson and it works fine with network coverage.

if i put the cingular sim in, it works but it doesnt have signal. it doesnt say the code error or anything like that. it accepted the unlock code u gave me but idk what's going on.

Like I said it is down to the frequencys not matching the 3390 only runs on a 1900mhz frequency.

it's a hardware problem? um.. im such a newbie but i wanna know if i cud get this fixed so i can use it with cingular. thanks

It would be better to just sell the mobile on ebay. It would cost you more to make it work with the SP that you want, than it would if you bought a new phone.

Cingular works on 850 Mhz and 1900 Mhz.
Your phone works on 1900 Mhz. Your other phone must be a duel band 850/1900Mhz phone so it will work anywhere.
Cingular might not have 1900Mhz coverage in your location. You will need to ask Cingular if they have 1900 coverage in your area.
On the question of unlocking, I understand your phone was a T-Mobile phone. Is that correct?
Did you use the phone on Smart. Is that the Phillipines? Did it work?. Did you get it unlocked when you used Smart?
It might be unlocked already.

1) What country did you buy the mobile from?
2) What network was the mobile originally locked to?
3) Have you tried any unlocking codes before the ones I gave you?
