I just placed an order for a Ghost Switch last night but now im not sure it will work with my v14 PS2. I think they are only compatible with v12's but im not sure, can somebody confirm this. I tried looking everywhere for the compatibility but couldnt find nothing, in fact I only found one place that actually sold them (thanks to this site).
The difference is, if you have a look at the hinge at the back where tool c should go, there is a metal sheet, this blocks the path so the tool c cant be inserted, there are another set of tools you can buy called Magic Keys 2, they work perfect with the slimline v14.
Yeah I noticed that some tools, I forgot what they were called, didnt work because of that metal tab. I tried bending it beforehand and saw it was risky/difficult so I decided to buy the ghost switch but now im not sure its compatible with my v14.
Sorry, i was looking at the wrong thing, in order to get those working in your ps2, you have to open it up, it most probably will work, isnt that the second ghost switch set, the first one is different i think, anyway.
why not get a just a modchip if your opening it anyway.
these things look sorta chat cutting half the things off magic keys 2 are harder ( you dont have to open ps2) a bit to install but no opening and no cutting
I already opened it up and the damn thing wouldn't fit for some reason, I spend like two hours trying to file it down to make it fit but I got tired so I just used tape.
And no I dont want to get a modchip becuase there are no solderless modchips yet, only for the big PS2's and last time I tried buying a DSM3 for a PS2 I ended up frying it and having a $60 modchip as a paper weight, so no thank you.
