I installed a fliptop case on my ps2 v.4 and i'm using swap magic 3.6. so far i'm having some issues. The discs seem to keep on jumping out of the tray, i believe it's not mounting the discs properly. and yes i did put the white disc magnet in the flip top.

I got it to work a few times - once for 2 hours while playing a back up and then the disc popped out - but now it seems to just dismount and throw the disc around whenever loading.

I've tried a few things(loosening the screws on the white disc/magnet placement so it drops further down, pushing down on the center of the flip top, placing the white disc directly on the disc) and can't seem to get it to work or mount properly.

Does anyone know how I may be able to fix this?

yes, really they do suck.
The problem is that the magnet (from the original case) is raised a millimeter or so on the flip top case and therefore not locking on to the ps2's spindle thingy majigger.

What I did was remove the 3 tabs from the fliptop case encasing (where the magnet should be). And then used a piece of construction paper [something a little stronger and sturdier than leaf paper], made a circle, cut out an inner circle, and taped the darn thing on to the fliptop case. It works without any problems whatsoever.

thanks for the suggestions.

i tried the contruction paper thing - the magnet did attach on stronger but the laser wouldn't move unless i flipped the top back up - after that, it goes to the red screen that says enter a ps disc blah blah blah.

i also tried putting everything back to normal (original top) and the disc still bounces around and isn't mounting right.

have any idea what the problem may be? i'm thinking i'm about just scraping the whole swap magic thing and just going to hdloader.

you should just get ur ps2 chipped. its easy to do. ive done it once b4, and i had no experience at it whatsoever! i had some experience at soldering thought. the best chip on the market is the matrix infinity. its extremely stable, the ic will never overheat, it has an autoboot feature, and it had autodetection, which means you dont have to switch between different modes while watching a dvd, playing a game.......
