I was at a gamestop and this could be just a bunch of banter they used to try to scare me but they said that the new a gentleman that was put into jail after he was detected. He didn't have just the firmware mod but a NME chip with the switch on it so he could turn it off. Like I said I don't know how true it is but it is always something to think about.

i know a guy who had his xbox modded that got caught by live... m$ went to his house, under the direct orders of bill gates, and beat his family right in front of the kid. Then they put 1 million ciggarettes out on his body. THAT'LL TEACH THOSE DAMN PIRATES!
Now go tell you're TRUE stories of fear on another forum.
:P
Sorry, but what you said about the guy is totally BS. XBL ain't got sh1t on me!

If you read my post you would have seen that I said that I don't know how much truth there is to it. Personally I don't have fast enough internet to be on XBL so I don't have to worry about it. I just thought others might want to know.

i know you don't know, but its kinda dumb to post it, especially when you don't know, we have enough people new to the scene that are scared of this kinda crap. Its my job to joke about it, because TRUST ME, xbox live is not doing anything about the hack, and noone is getting in trouble for it.

Don't you love it when people people questions as statements, ie. no question mark at the end? No one other than MS knows for sure, BUT it's a pretty safe bet they can't detect it now. I've heard rumors MS isn't worried enough about the hack to try to invest in the costs for checking for it as long as they can prevent new Xbox 360s from being hackable.

Personally I don't know if I want to test if they are checking or not. It may be a very slim chance that you can get caught but I don't think I want to get caught and be thrown into jail and become someones's "best friend." I am a small guy so I would rather not chance that kind of thing.

What the hell is all this prison nonsence about? Having a modded Xbox is not illegal! Though in England I think it is, modchips are illigal to SELL, thats all, you can still buy 'em online and install them. Just don't get caught downloading games. ;)

Yeah it's ridiculas to think you'd go to jail for be being caught on Live with a modded 360. Did anyone who was banned from Live with modded Xbox 1 go to jail? Of course not. Now getting caught selling a modded console and/or games especially, is another story.
