Hey folks, I got one for you:

My task Maanger is all screwed up! CTRL-ALT-DEL does not work, and when I use the run comand, it says that the path cannot be found. It is in the C:\Windows\system32 folder.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I had the same problem long time ago and luckily i read about it here in this forum when someone gave the solution for it, which was some key to type in the registery from Start then Run & when you type it(copy & paste) the task manager should get back as normal. I just cant remember what it was.

This is definately a virus related issue. I cant remeber which one it is, but it hit a few of my workstations at the office. When you do your scans, make sure you do them all in safe mode.

Altrighty then. I ran the anti-virus program in normal mode and didn't find anything, so I'll try it in safe mode then.

Thanks

Also, run in Safe mode with Networking. Use Pandas online scan as well. Sometimes it picks up stuff Norton/McAfee dont.

Yes use PandaOnline Scan, or try downloading Ewido scanner trial and scan with that aswell. If this still does not work get HijackThis and post a log here which maybe someone could analyse, or on another spyware forum.

Panda found a bunch of spyware, but naturally, It will not remove it for me. Here is the result of the HijackThis file. If it needs to be moved to a different form, let me know and I will do it.

I figured it out!

Apparently I downloaded something called "Process Explorer" a while back and I told it to replace my task bar.

Anyway, that was the problem.
