Can anybody explain why my xbox 360 when in mid-game goes black for a couple of sexonds then goes to the dashboard? please reply

Do you ever see any red lights on the ring of lights? Sounds like a defective Xbox to me.

no there is no red lights just quits to the dashboaard every now and again it sometimes works fine but sometimes does that
