Shrink recently during encodiding shuts the computer down at about 1:7 gig
No problem with other programs like DVD Ripper. DVDFab works fine but 2 discs are no use
Well DVD Shrink is a heavy processer program, and more than likely it is causing ur processor to overheat which is causing the PC to shutdown. One thing u can try is to clean ur PC, open the case and get all of the dust out, every tiny bit of dust out, then run shrink after u do this and see if pc shuts down.
U can also download this program SpeedFan to check out what ur PC temp is and ur CPU temp, which is temp2 for that program, heres a link for it.

Other members say that some of the newer encryptions cause Shrink to shut down the computer. Are you using anything in conjunction with Shrink? If not, this may be a reason.
Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie
Mr Pink you seem to have a glimmer of hope.Could you expand on your comment of using anthing in conjunction with.
Tho other comments about CPU usage & tempreture are allso interesting as I have just replaced the motherboard.
Mr. Pink was talking about running AnyDVD with shrink, i assumed u used DVDFab to rip and u were running the ripped files on ur HDD thru shrink.
If u just recently replaced the motherboard, then i would think that dust is not the problem.
Try using that SpeedFan program to check if ur Power supply is all good, and also u can have it running while using shrink to see if the CPU temp goes up thus making ur PC shut off.
