I just bought some printable media, Taiyo Yuden to be exact, and I am wonrdering how to print on them? Do I need a program or a special printer to get images on the DVD+Rs? I have a higher end printer and the media, now I assume I need some program. What do you guys use to print on your media??

Yeah.........the Epsons are great!
Just don't use sticky paper labels, or you're asking for trouble.
If you can't print them, use a Sharpie marker.

I use:
1)Sharpie-unimportant backups
2)Full hub inkjet printable-excellent for dark covers
3)Shiny/reg hub inkjet printable-3d look,very awesome-great for lighter covers.
4)Lightscribe-3d look.

Depending on what covers I download from my favorite sites, determines how I label backups. A lot of gold in the label,I'll use the lightscribes. I got a pic of all 4 of them in my user profile page.

If you get a chance, check out a staple's store. They run specials on the Epson R series printers. Maybe even get lucky and find 1 on clearance. The R-220 runs $80 at sams club.It runs $99 at staple's. The R-340 runs $139 when on sale at staples.

The epsons come with print cd software. Pretty easy, once you get settings correct.

Best part,I get the complete set of 6 ink carts for under $15 at supermediastore.com. I save a lot of money on my ink.

Are these inkjet printable or thermal printable? Huge difference between the 2.

i was just curious about how many discs you can usually print out before you have to change the ink cartridges?

I never kept track of how many covers per set of cartridges. I know I went through a lot of ink when I was printing the full jacket covers and full hubs.I'd change 1 cart every week.

Now I'm down to reg hub shiny and white full hub inkjet printables. My ink usage drastically dropped.Should be able to get 100 + per set for disc cover only? I'm using 1 cart every other month.

For $15 a set of carts at meritline, and $3 apiece empty ink vouchers from staples-very cheap ink-free!! I think staple's is putting those vouchers to a halt.
