Hi, please help, you have probably covered this in your many threads, but i need to know what is the best software other than nero to burn vob files. I have a Pioneer A05 and have just bought some Datawrite 4x (yellow)-bad idea! I have a problem with audio sync and am told that it is a software issue. Please help!

Well it is not necessarily going to be Nero's fault. What programme are you using to rip the Vob files?

i'm using DVD Decrypter to rip, and DVD2One to compress. I started off by buying Bulkpaq which worked but wouldn't burn one film properly, started freezing about half way through! I have no idea what has started to cause this, so i ordered some ICE discs due to recommendation but received Datawrite 4x instead (yellow)

You say you are having problems with audio sync. Are you putting a DivX movie on to DVD or have you changed the frames per second manualy in any way, other than the compression tool.
i always say, that if you are having problems, try downloading the free (click here)--> DVD Shrink and follow this user guide:

If you are still getting problems get back to us

I doubt if it is the discs so I would try using DVD Shrink instead and see what happens. I assume you are using the DVD video option in Nero to drag and drop the files? Is the audio sync problem on your PC or stand alone?

thanks Oriphus, i'll try that and let you know, cheers.
Discmania, yeah i am using the dvd video option and it seems to play back on my computer fine but my standalone, the audio sync seems to delay aroubd the middle of the film (trying to backup 8-mile) and by the end of the film it seems to have regained itself! Weird, i have tried 2 types of media now, so it aint the discs.
Two things i need, an alternative to the DVD video option on Nero and to know if i should sent these datawrite one's back, ihave just noticed they were produced b datasafe media.

Sometimes folders that have spaces like Program Files can cause some problems. Create a folder in the C: (or whatever) directory and name it anything, but make sure if its two names: Program_files, that you do that. See if that helps. I dont think thats the problem though.
Have you downloaded ASPI and installed it? If not do that, you may find that these things can help clear up further issues, if you haven't already met them.
What version of Nero are you using. Try downloading Nero v5.5.10.35 and if you still have problems then i suggest you download the trial of Record Now Max from this website:

Hope this helps,

I would hunch a bet and say that the discs you are using are not helping - the datasafe brand exists no more and even though they are probably Ritek discs they are old stock. If you are using DVD Shrink you are better off ripping the movie again - you don't need to use the files you already have - I am assuming of course that you are copying the '8 Mile' disc? DVD Shrink will rip and re-encode the files all in one. The fact that the movie is playing OK in your PC indicates that it is possibly your stand alone player anyway. I used to have this problem regularly when I made VCD's and it turned out to be the player which I subsequently changed. It is a case of elimination so try DVD Shrink first, preferably with an alternative disc and if the problem persists it will almost certainly be the stand alone player.

Discmania, you are spot on about the Datasafe labelled media doesnt exist. However, bare with me if you already new this ;-), Datasafe Media Limited is the company that produce Datawrite Media, so in essence it is the same:

I did '8 Mile - PAL R2' thus:
DVD Decrypter
DVD2One
Nero
Movie-Only
On a Ritek G03 @ X1
No playback problems on 3 different DVD stand alone players [one being a PS2 v7 unchipped & plays from the start w/out a menu ..which I heard would be a problem , there being no menu]
