I've come to the conclusion that the source of my coasters could quite possibly my burner. I'm downloading the same isos from the same groups and using the same software as everyone else, so this is the only conclusion I can come up with. So, I'd like to hear other peoples successes/failures in an attempt to determine what kind of replacement burner to buy. Obviously Plextor and LiteOn are at the top of the list but I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks

I have a Lite On SHW-160PS5. Verbatims and Office Depots have worked well for me on a Hitachi and Samsung. Memorex have been like 50/50 bad-good. I always pay $1.80 or less per Verbatim so I just stick to those since they are the best unless I catch an Office Depot sale.

I have a SONY DVD RW DRU-810A and i use Verbatrim DVDs, though i used PENGO once(i know, really crappy, but i didnt have any verbs. left !) and never had a problem.

I have read everywhere that sony dvd-rs don't work, that's a lie, just so everyone knows.

I have had 5 coasters, but because of region problems (they said no region when they are) or because they didn't come with the right SS on them.

In my op. (IT Proff, that's my job) Lite-Ons wont be any good, they might work good for a while but you'll be buying another one in a year or less.

Again, this is my opinion, i'm sure some people have had theirs for long time.

Hope this helps.
