I've been trying to burn High School Musical using DVDFAB Decrypter and VobBlanker. Everything runs smoothly until I get to DVDShrink 3.2 then the following message comes up "Failed to open "H:\Vobblanker High School Musical\Video_TS\VTS_05_0.IFO. System cannot find file specified." The files are too long to fit on a single disc and no matter which files I blank out, I can't get to burn. Trying to burn Pink Panther (2006) I used AnyDVD and DVD Shrink and got an error message that says I encountered an error. Invalid DVD Navigation Structure. I tried to burn both movies using DVD X COPY Platinum without success. Could I have two bad movie discs? I am using TDK 1-16X 4.7 GB/GO burn media. This is my first problem with the software I have.

I've tried to burn Pink Panther using Ripit4Me without success. Every time I get to Create PSL I encounter an error that shuts me down. I've tried to burn using two different copies of the movie disc, all with the same result. I've tried to follow Arniebear's instruction without the success Arniebear has. Is there another way to approach this project. All my other burns have been successful, except for High School Musical and Pink Panther. In those, I use either DVD X COPY Platinum, AnyDVD with DVD Shrink 3.2 or DVD Fab Decrypter with VobBlanker.

You don't have AnyDVD running whilst trying the RipIt4Me method do you? Also should have it shut down when using DVDFab Decrypter. There is also the AnyDVD ripper that comes in handy from time to time...right click on the fox icon and choose the ripper, open the resulting folder the DVD Shrink as usual.

AnyDVD was not started when using DVD Decrypter. I right clicked on the fox but did not see any path to a ripper. Should I have?

Guys,
K I S (keep it simple) I just backed up Pink Panther and used Shrink/Nero and Princo DVD media (cheap as chips) no problem at all. I think we tend to loss sight of the simplest methods.

I purchased AnyDVD 5.5.1.1 on eBay in November 2005 and it worked properly until today when a pop up appeared stating that my trial period has ended and I can buy or exit. I'm trying to correct this situation. Next, when I try to use DVD Shrink with Pink Panther i get a pop up that says "DVD Shrink has encountered an error and cannot continue. Invalid DVD navigation structure." What do I do now?

How far through the Shrink process do you get before you receive the error?
If it's at the very begining, I would say that the original DVD is dodgy.
If it's right at the very end of the burn process, I would guess that Nero is the problem ( I had same problem with Nero Vision end of burn process) easy fix is to have shrink write the files to hard drive and burn them with Nero afterwards.
Come back to us with the timing of the error.

@triviaace your problems started when you purchased AnyDVD 5.5.1.1 from ebay. If you want to use it, try buying AnyDVD 6.0.5.0. from slysoft.com.

That method does not always work due to newer encryptions.
LOCOENG provided the best advice.

If you backed up the Pink Panther without the help of DVDFab, AnyDVD or RipIt4Me you are the man...DVD Shrink couldn't dream of handling this one by itself...it has a ton of protection on it.

I just purchased the latest AnyDVD from Slysoft and set it up but when I reight click on the fox, I don't get the menu that you show in your earlier response. When I try AnyDVD with DVD Shrink 3.2 I get the same result as before. Am I doing something wrong?

After purchasing AnyDVD I decided to try Ripit4Me again. I clicked the icon, told it to stop AnyDVD, set the path to FixVTS, clicked Wizard Mode, set the target to Pink Panther-Video_TS, clicked OK and then clicked Create PSL. The program started working and then stopped due to an error. No matter whether I report the error or not, Ripit4Me shuts down. Something is stopping the importation of PSL. My version of AnyDVD is 6.0.5.0. When I try AnyDVD and DVD Shrink, the program terminates before the screen of the video comes up. Nothing seems to work with this DVD.

Is the disc scrathed or dirty? Could it be a bad pressing?

The disc looks quite clean. I've tried the burn with two separate discs that look identical (almost brand new).

LOCOENG,
I swear I backed it up with shrink only, (I have no reason to lie to you guys) I have the copy in my hand, the fact it is region 4 would that make a difference? I backup all my DVDs and (touch wood) I have never had any dramas with shrink. There was one movie (can't remember the name) that I had to use DVD Decrypter to rip it but that's it.

I don't know what happened but I guess persistance paid off. This time I followed arniebear's model (as I did before) and the burn went through perfectly. I really appreciate all the help I received from the folks on the Afterdawn Forum. Thanks again

It's not really bad once you've got the hang of it, but it does require a slightly higher learning curve than the DVDFab + VobBlanker method...both are excellent freeware methods. Glad you got it working though, happy burning.
