Hello,

I have recently purchased a 50-Pack of Optodisc DVD-R (blue labels). My DVD-Burner is a Pioneer DVR-105. My problem is that when I burn data (mostly .avi and .mp3 files) to the discs, and then try to playback the files in my computers DVD-ROM or in the burner itself, it is impossible to play the last 4 or 5 avis on the disc (this has happened with about 70% of the discs, and I usually burn on average about 3800-4000 MB to the disc. I've heard rumours of Optodiscs being crap media and that files burned on the outer rims of the CD will not work. I've also experienced some of the files having CRC errors after burning. I am using Nero 6 Enterprise... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Brandon

Are you using the UDF/ISO mode in Nero? If so try using the UDF only mode. I don't know about the Optodiscs but you are right about the outer part being where the most probs are. Do you have Nero 5.5 latest instead of Enterprise?

Nero Enterprise Edition should be okay...

I have Nero 5.5.10.20 Enterprise & it performs everything that I need onto DVD-R (RW)

I do agree that you want to burn in UDF mode most definitely

Hi guys, thanks for the info. I tried using UDF mode, and I haven't burned a coaster since. Thanks again,

Hi guys,

I forgot to mention before that I am now using CopyToDVD instead of Nero. I thought that my problem had been fixed, but after burning about 10 successful discs, I have now burned 3 discs that play most of the AVI files on the cd fine, but there are the odd couple that won't open and say there's a cyclic redundancy check error (CRC). In preferences I have UDF, Joilet, and ISO9660 all enabled. Using UDF I am now able to easily read the last files on the burned DVDS, so I don't think that it has anything to do with the media. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Brandon

You were saying something about Nero 6.0 Enterprise ....

Is that a beta app , or has it actually been released now?

Try using Nero 5.5.10.35 instead would be a suggestion from me : )

Oh, sorry. I thought it was Nero 6, but it was actually Nero 5.5.10.28 ... I will try 5.5.10.35 and see what happens though.

Thanks,
Brandon
