I've been using DVD Shrink for about almost a year now. I've been using DVD43 in combination with shrink. I insert the cd and DVD43 then decrpytes it. I then have shrink compress and burn the movie onto a blank cd. But lately after I hit Backup! on the shrink it gives me an error message after about 18-20% of the dvd has been burned. The message says the following: "DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue. Failed to read file F:\. Data error (cyclic redundancy check). What the heck does that mean???!!! It just started doing this the past couple days... why now?? Please help, I know nothing about burned movies....

It can mean a newer protection your Shrink/DVD43 can't handle or more likely a dirty, scratched, smudged or damaged disc. See if you can exchange it for another.

hello GameFan1,

it could be what bilbo said, newer protection, scratched disk

What movie r u trying to do?
Does this happen with every movie or just one?
Is the DVD43 program the newest version? update it if it isnt the newest version.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to say that it's just a newer encryption. Unless of course, you're trying to copy a badly damaged disc--but you would know that if you have an inch deep scratch, that any program wouldn't be able to copy it.

Yea I'm going to see if I can find an update for DVD43. If anyone knows a really good decryptor let me know too.

I could try that method as well. Thanks for the insight.

@GameFan1

Scrap DVD43 and get DVDFAB Decrypter + VobBlanker or RipIt4Me and you'll be free of misery.

Here are 2 of the best FREE combo methods:

<< method 1 >>
- DVDFAB Decrypter 2.9.8.3 to rip to hard drive
- VobBlanker to process the VIDEO_TS.IFO file from DVDFAB (only take 5 minutes)
- DVD Shrink to transcode the VIDEO_TS file from VobBlanker and create an ISO image
- DVD Decrypter or ImgBurn to burn your final ISO

<< method 2 >>
- RipIt4Me (DVD Decrypter to rip to hard drive)
- FixVTS to process the movie
- DVD Shrink to transcode the movie and create an ISO image
- DVD Decrypter or ImgBurn to burn your final ISO

For more info on how to use DVDFAB Decrypter or RipIt4Me, check out the links below:

That's it. Easy as sippin' on a Corona. Good luck and happy burning.
