ok I was planing on gettign a DSM4 EZI but it seems they have "install issues" so I am like great now I have to look up a new chip and then have to solder the damn thing ><
I have a version 7 PS2 whats the best/easiet chip to install?
I perferably want a media and backup modchip.

well in my opinion, i like matrix infinity. and i thought it was pretty easy to install, took a long time cus it had like 18 wires but it was easy nontheless. i think it is a good modchip since i think i read somewhere that only v9 ps2 can play DVD+R dvds well but my ps2 does not seem to have a problem and it is a v4 also, there is a handy mode where all your vid comes out as NTSC, so its easier to play PAL games w.o a patch

mmm have to thnk on the whole 18 wire thing not a fan of the extra smal solder points on the PS2 the PSx was not so bad *L*

yeah well that was like only 7 wires. the ps2 is more comlicated. tehre are mod chips that are like only 8 or 10 or somthien like that its cheaper, i just dont know if it has all the functions, if you want less wires go for ceap, if you wnat good performance go for more wires.

the cheaper ones are only good for games and I dont paly online it might be a choice ^^

the 50$ modchips are hardcore media and games and online stuff.
I wonder if I shuld get a smaller tip for my solderign iroin is a normal 30watt.
I am not great at it *L*
but I did build my PS2 from parts :P
hell built a V4 I think that coud read RW discs with no trouble..to bad cat+cord = dead system *L*
