Hi.I am new here

While browsing I read the following on someone's post ( on pg 2 I think, in buying media)

Wonder, what is a rootkit, I did do some reading on it, kinda of hard to understand. Is it spyware or more?

Does this mean if I used a Sony DVD it put something on my system?

Since I am just staring I have bought small packs of Sony. Some ID as Ty, those must have been the Japan box. The made in Tawain ID as Sony media.

I did purchase a big spindle, did not open yet. MIT, grey round spacer? Those would ID as Sony I guess.

See.i have learned a lot here in a short time. You guys are good & helpful.
I know that BB has Ver. for about $6 or 7 this week ( 25 pk?)

Thanks for letting me know....sure do appraciate it.

Can you explain to me what it is briefy. As I said I have done some reading...is it spyware, or virus?

I also read where there was a lawsuit & they were not allowed to do that any longer.

Thanks again. Was going to return the pack I bought last week on sale

Unless you have away around it (a program to brake it) the DRM isn't a virus or spyware its a program to "spy" on your computer. Whoever made the DRM from the audio CD you bought ia aloud to see whats on your computer and to see if its all legit software etc.
