v400 problems with screen and power

About a week ago I flipped my phone open, at which point the screen went blank and shut itself off. Since then, when i turn the phone on, the keys light up for approx 30 seconds, but the screen will not and none of the buttons seem to do anything, then the key light will turn off.

I have tried 2 batteries I have, both of which had a charge. I have tried plugging in to charger but that does not cause a change. I have also tried to connect to Motorola Phone Tools, but the phone turns off before anything can happen.

Any ideas?
