Where is VIDEO_TS.VOB?

I ripped my own DVD movie with DVD Decypter using the ISO mode to my hard disk. Then I used DVD Shrink on the ISO file to generate the files in a folder to burn into a blank disk. The video files generated can be played on the PC with WinDVD, however the same files burned to the DVD disk cannot play on my Toshiba DVD player.

I noticed that the VIDEO_TS_VOB file was missing from the list of files that are usually generated by DVD Shrink. How can this file be generated and is this the reason why the backup copy cannot be played on the DVD player?

Was this a homemade movie or Commercial DVD ? If it was Commercial then use the newest version of DVDFAB Decrypter or Ripit4Me and rip it to HD. If you used DVDFAB to rip to HD then use VobBlanker next to correct the structural problems and then use Shrink.

The reason it will play in the computer and not in the DVD Player is Media compatibility. The DVD Player does not like the blank media you are using.

If you generated an iso file w/ Shrink that is fine as the player should recognize it if it likes the blank media used

most people around here suggest taiyo yuden or verbatim disks as the most likely to both burn and playback with the highest level of compatibility for burners and stand alone players. also recommended by many are made-in-japan (mij) sony and maxell.

please let us know what you do and what works or doesn't.
