please double check your imei code
by typing *#06# when the phone is on and the sim card in.
it is a 15 digit number and you have only 14 digits.

the unlock code worked great but now i get no signal from towers

unlocking it has nothing to do with signal.
all the unlocking does is enable you to use tmobile as a provider (or another gsm company) with the same phone.

all my phones are cingular and i unlocked them all. they all work fine.
maybe you are in a bad reseption area.

That usually happens when the Sim is not yet activated.
Is it a new sim?

Phones are not cut off unless they are reported stolen.
Sims can expire and get cut off.
Is the Farmers account active or expired?
You need a good sim to test the phone to see if it is locked. We need to know the message you get when you try a good and activated sim.

Farmers sim is old and has expired and is no good anymore. That would be the reason why you're getting that message.

You will need to get a different sim that is activated with minutes and you should not get that message anymore. The other sim should be thrown in the trash.
