Use them. I've got some sony dvd+rw's (media code phillips 041) that have been excellent. Burned and reburned countless times and still perform great.

yeah just use them for data and not storage. their dye will die faster than regular R dye.

DVD+RW does not use dye. Thoee media use 5 layers of metal alloys sputtered onto the discs. Since the alloy is impervious to UV light and reacts only to heat, there is some evidence that they could outlast dye-based discs (especially if dielectric layers were to be used--which they are not for either DVD-RW or DVD+RW). Philips/HP/Sony intended the + format to have only DVD+RW, but they were later forced to introduce a less expensive dye-based DVD+R disc; so the DVD+RW discs should be perfectly suitable for anything a DVD+R disc is.

spOrin- You could use them for whatever you choose to ! but suggestion ! I would use them for when your having problems copying a difficult movie for example - then you could use them for a trial run burn if they work burn a permanent copy if it comes out screwy erase & star over no coaster to throw away - Also I have'nt had any experience with the Sony DVD+RW's in particular but RW media tends to be a little more finicky than the permanent disc - they seem to scratch more easily and sometimes will become unreadable after several burn/erase/reburn cycles! Being you've got them already you may as well use them ! Though if I were in the market for RW media I think I would get verbatim ! I understand you got these by mistake and these things happen so don't sweat it ! Good luck and happy burning!
